Raj Bhakta

NC State | ASSIST
Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area
Raj Bhakta is currently a PhD student in Textile Engineering at NC State University in Raleigh, NC working on textile electronics for smart clothing and wearable technology applications. He graduated with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Philosophy of Physics from the University of Texas-Austin. His current work focuses on inventing technologies that can bring the textiles industry to the computing age by printing electronics onto textiles. He's very excited about the exponential change in technologies and its implications on transhumanism. As such, he's very entrepreneurially driven to create solutions to problems facing humanity. He believes it's events like Moogfest that allow us to stop and think about the future of humanity - something that is needed in times of lightspeed change. He's excited to discuss and moderate the panel for 'The evolution of textiles as a second skin and the future of fashion' through the lens of exponential technologies.
