Magenta 1: Training Neural Networks FULL

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

In this introductory workshop, you will learn the basics of training neural networks to generate musical sequences with the open-source Magenta library (http://github.com/tensorflow/magenta). You will also set up a MIDI-based environment for interacting with Magenta neural networks to improvise with them in real time. Time permitting, we will discuss how you might improve upon these neural networks on your own. No background in machine learning or programming is required, although a basic understanding of using a Unix-like terminal is recommended.

** If you successfully register for this workshop, it will be confirmed in your personalized schedule. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. Those not in attendance 5 minutes before the session begins will forfeit their spot to those in line.
** If you were unable to successfully register for this workshop but were added to the waitlist and want to attend, it may still be possible if a space becomes available on the day of the session. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session and wait in the standby line. Open spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis to those in line.
** By registering for a workshop, you acknowledge that Moogfest may share your email address with the instructor for the purpose of planning and coordinating this event.

Evolution has been a slow natural process that we are externalizing and accelerating through technology and creativity. Humans have long sought to transform nature with agriculture and medicine, employing biotechnologies to manipulate living systems, and even our own bodies. Today, biotechnology has expanded to include cloning and genetic engineering, organ transplants and prosthetics, computer science and biorobotics... even bio-art. An exciting... Read More →
