Magenta 2: AI-Based Musical Sequence Generators FULL

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

In this advanced hackathon-style workshop, we will teach you about the AI-based musical sequence generation API provided by the open-source Magenta library, which uses MIDI for communication (https://github.com/tensorflow/magenta/tree/master/magenta/interfaces/midi). We will also demonstrate the interface we built on top of it with Ableton and MaxMSP (https://magenta.tensorflow.org/2016/12/16/nips-demo/). You will then be given time to work in teams to develop a new interface to a production environment, hardware controller, or protocol of your choice (e.g., Ableton, Max, OSC, HTML/JS, etc.). We hope you will ultimately be able to contribute your work back to the Magenta open-source community.

** If you successfully register for this workshop, it will be confirmed in your personalized schedule. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. Those not in attendance 5 minutes before the session begins will forfeit their spot to those in line.
** If you were unable to successfully register for this workshop but were added to the waitlist and want to attend, it may still be possible if a space becomes available on the day of the session. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session and wait in the standby line. Open spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis to those in line.
** By registering for a workshop, you acknowledge that Moogfest may share your email address with the instructor for the purpose of planning and coordinating this event.
