Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Are you an artist or musician interested in 3D sound? In this workshop, several methods of sound spatialization are described and demonstrated. Hear how the power of immersive audio can become a compositional and audio engineering tool to create new musical experiences. Examples include live electric violin spatialized through 24 loudspeakers, Moog synthesizer sounds flying around you, 3D convolution reverberation, and a spatial chip tune demo. This informal workshop encourages discussion during the two hours, with 30 minutes at the end for mini-breakouts and Q&A.

This session will take place in a site-specific hexaphonic audio environment designed and installed by engineers from Virginia Tech ICAT.
