Artificially intelligent systems (AI) are increasingly the ubiquitous, unseen arbiters of our social, civic, and family lives. Ever-increasing computational power, combined with almost limitless data, has led to a turning point in the way AI assists, judges and cares for humans. The need to understand how, where, and why bias enters human-robot interactions, is more important than ever. This workshop will use a hands-on approach to exploring the deepening relationship between humans and their AI. We will work in groups to identify critical social, and ethical implications of human and robot interaction, and use IBM Watson to create chatbots that are trained by, and aligned with, the ideals of the workshop community.

** If you successfully register for this workshop, it will be confirmed in your personalized schedule. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. Those not in attendance 5 minutes before the session begins will forfeit their spot to those in line.

** If you were unable to successfully register for this workshop but were added to the waitlist and want to attend, it may still be possible if a space becomes available on the day of the session. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session and wait in the standby line. Open spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis to those in line.

** By registering for a workshop, you acknowledge that Moogfest may share your email address with the instructor for the purpose of planning and coordinating this event.
