Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

What if we hand make our computers? This workshop will introduce the fundamentals of computation and electronics. Participants will learn to use breadboard, switch, LED and NAND (which is short for not AND logic) Integrated Circuit chips. By combining NAND gates in various arrangements we will make every possible binary logic pattern. Using the logic, we will make Half-Adder which has an arithmetic function that performs Boolean algebra, SR Latch which has a memory function that stores data and an oscillator with a clock function that keeps track of time and synchronizes the computer’s various operations. This workshop is geared for someone without prior experience and knowledge about electronics as well as experienced hackers.

** If you successfully register for this workshop, it will be confirmed in your personalized schedule. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session. Those not in attendance 5 minutes before the session begins will forfeit their spot to those in line.
** If you were unable to successfully register for this workshop but were added to the waitlist and want to attend, it may still be possible if a space becomes available on the day of the session. Please plan to arrive at the venue at least 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the session and wait in the standby line. Humanity progresses, societies evolve, and expressions, representations, and tastes shift wildly, but the drive to make tools that produce music will always permeate all cultures. Once instrument builders first began to harness electronic technologies into new possibilities for instrument design, the door opened to radical... Read More →
